Accounting

It is fitting that the first area for YES Opportunities' established endowment is in Accounting. Financial Management, Fundraising, and Fiscal Responsibility is significant to the life of a non-profit organization. Our Accounting Endowment is named the Claude McDonald Endowment established in honor of our organization's first accountant, Mr. Claude McDonald.  Mr. McDonald served supremely from the inception of YES Opportunities in October 2000 to the time of his passing in August 2005.

Mr. McDonald received his early education in England before coming to America and attending high school in the Bronx, New York.  After graduating from high school there, he matriculated at City University in New York where he earned his degree in Accounting.  With his proficient skills as an Accountant, when he relocated to the Washington DC Metropolitan area, he entered entrepreneurship as an Accountant providing tax and financial services for individuals and small businesses for over 30 years.  In addition to his Accounting business, Mr. McDonald was compassionately driven to serve the cause of humankind through roles such as Comptroller for private and poverty programs and, his final labor of love, Accountant/Chief Financial Officer for YES Opportunities, Inc.

The Claude McDonald Endowment is established at College of Central Florida in Ocala, Florida.  It is available for students seeking a degree in Accounting or Finance.  For information on the full conditions concerning this scholarship endowment, please contact The College of Central Florida Foundation Office for Institutional Advancement at 352-873-5808.

As seen above, any persons pursuing Accounting in the aspects of financial service, financial management, or comptrolling would indeed be pursuing the passions of the person for whom this endowment is named.  With this endowment, we hope to help provide support to more future accountants who will have the skill, proficiency, and passion for excellence in Accounting as was embodied in Mr. Claude Eustace McDonald.
